Warwickshire Education Authority have seconded for 3 years
A Teacher for two days a week
A Level 3 Teaching Assistant for four days a week
From the Specific Language Disorder Team which is part of Warwickshire DISCS (Disability, Inclusion, Sensory and Communication Support Service).
Staff are based at the Widgit Development Office and work alongside the Widgit staff.

The project will create curriculum resources using Writing with Symbols 2000 and Communicate: In Print 2
The combination of teaching and computer expertise is the key to the project's success.
A year in the life of the project
September - Action plan agreed for year based on:
- Feedback from previous year
- Balance of current resources - subject/age range
- New ideas
Xmas, Spring, Summer- special seasonal packs updated.
Termly meetings with mainstream teachers to:
- Review progress
- Feedback on resources trialled before release
- Discuss future development
- Contribute evidence - case studies/anecdotes
Training and support in using symbols for Warwickshire schools and support staff
The resources are made to link into the QCA schemes of work and the Government Strategies for Literacy and Numeracy.
