Our service works with students with physical difficulties, autistic spectrum disorders,
hearing impairments and specific learning difficulties. We use Widgit products
to help enable students to fully access the curriculum, and we offer advice to schools
within Northamptonshire on a wide range of issues.

The Support Service for SEN is a team of teachers who support statemented & school action plus pupils in mainstream Derbyshire schools. There are 7 teams covering all areas of Derbyshire.

We also offer a comprehensive training programme to our schools covering a wide range of topics related to SEN including IT training. 

We are unable to offer training to schools outside our remit. However we will try to give advice & offer demonstrations of programmes wherever possible.

We are a team of specialist teachers with a wide experience and knowledge of special educational needs working with schools, parents and other professionals to meet the needs of pupils with statements of SEN, and at school action plus, an increasing part of our time is concerned with providing advice and training for schools - we give advice on appropriate materials programmes etc and also frequently provide training in the use of such resources\programmes.

Our team covers schools mainly between the A50 and the A52 on either side of Derby..from Sandiacre to Sudbury.

The Support Service Special Educational Needs Newhall covers the primary schools in South Derbyshire. We work with children who have statements of SEN and those who are at School Action Plus. We provide hands -on teaching and also offer an extensive training 'menu' to the schools in the locality.

We support children and adults with severe communication difficulties. We provide:
- One-to-one   advocacy for people requiring a Communication Aid and living in Kent or Medway
- A loan resource library available to people living or working in Kent or Medway.
- Widgit symbol training is available to people throughout the UK at the Find A Voice office. There is a sliding scale of charges operating (reduced charges for parents and those working in Kent/Medway).'
- We will travel to other sites in Kent.
