Resource Releases
A new resource called Symbols at Home is now available (CIP/PDF).
It contains a set of 20 flash card files relating to feelings and emotions, numbers, playing, playgroup, safety, shopping, colours, times of day, days of week, mealtime, behaviour, food and drink, recycling, activity labels, hand washing sequence, notices, transport, dressing up, getting dressed and places to go.
A booklet with ideas about how to use the pack is included.

Resource Releases
New Resources on Famous People are now available (CIP/PDF) including: Winston Churchill, William Shakespeare and Charles Dickins.
These packs have a set of 5 information books with different levels of symbolised support. Also a word search, sentence matching, quiz, missing vowel, spelling activity and vocabulary book for the topic.

Signage Tiles For Schools
Widgit have developed a new range of school signage tiles. The tiles have been developed to address the need for consistent, and professional signage in any location.
The ‘Signage Tiles For Schools’ pack consists of 25 tiles, each with an appropriate school signage symbol. The tiles were developed in conjunction with schools in Warwickshire and are suited to any school environment.A sheet showing the signs in the pack can be downloaded.

Insite Plug-ins
Insite is a symbol content editor which allows you to create and display symbol-supported content on your website quickly and easily.
Widgit have launched two new plug-ins for Insite: TinyMCE and FCKeditor to add to the existing plug-ins: Drupal and Sharepoint.

J2E Project
j2esymbols is a joint project between Just2Easy and Widgit.
j2eSymbols help learning and understanding by displaying pictorial representations of words on the page. j2eSymbols accesses the Widgit symbol library, so you can make web pages with symbols, see symbols as you type, and get symbol help over the spelling and word list windows.

The Foundling Museum
The Foundling Museum was Britains original home for abandoned children and London's first ever art gallery!
Their Forthcoming Exhibition - In the picture (30/07/09 - 27/09/09) is a vibant exhibition of works by childrens book illustrators such as Quentin Blake and Jane Ray. This show places children with disabilities at the centre of storys though pictures.
Widgit Software have worked with the museum to create a symbol trail and signs to support the exhibit. The trail will be available on the foundling museum website shortly.

eLive: July Issue Now Available
This month's issue is now up on SymbolWorld.org
We have News, Film, Horoscopes and a Recipe for Macaroni Frittata. The Fun section has a film quiz along with Star Sign, Cancer. This month's Feature is on The Ultimate Pet Show, which was held at the N.E.C. in Birmingham. The Community section is about a lady called Rachel, she is a Beauty Therapist. The Games section has a jigsaw puzzle to solve.

VLE’s and Online Services
Did you know that Widgit can work with your Virtual Learning Environment (VLE, you might know this as MLE or Learning Platform) provider to include a gateway to using Widgit Symbols in web based applications throughout your school, authority or regional VLE?
We currently have two ‘plug in’ options that can be used within your VLE. These are:
Insite: Create and edit symbol content within your browser for publishing directly onto your site.

Internet Safety Resources
