• KS3 Reviews for pupils with learning difficulties

• Update to WWS2000
  An upgrade to version 2.620 is now available to download.
  This is only available to users who already have version 2.6 and will fix a bug where the F12 orders are being altered when merging two large wordlists.

• Update to wordlists for the Widgit Rebus symbols
  These wordlists apply to version 2.6 of Writing with Symbols plus Inter_Comm and Complete versions that use the Widgit Rebus.
  
  These wordlists have many more synonyms and improved F12 allocations. This removes the need to use the facility 'Match to Shorter word' and will also reduce the number of standard vocabulary words which you have to create using F11.

• French as a Modern Foreign Language
  Version 2.6 is now available.
  This is an add-on to Writing with Symbols 2000 and will require you to have version 2.6 of Writing with Symbols 2000 installed first.

• The brand new Widgit Website
  Widgit have re-designed the website and we hope you like what is here.
  
  Some brand new areas have been included, one of which is the Practical Ideas section. Here you will find some fantastic ideas for making resources: How to make recipe cards, How to make flash cards, to name but a few.
  
  We have also updated the Support area so any technical issues you have, you should find most of your answers here.

 

• Training in Writing with Symbols 2000
  Widgit is offering Training Days on the following dates:
  07/10/03 - Waltham Forest City Learning Centre, 144 Billet Road, London E17 5DP
  14/10/03 - Longton High City Learning Centre, Box Lane, Meir, Stoke-on-Trent ST3 5PR
  22/10/03 - MGL, 26 Century Building, Brunswick Business Park, Tower Street, Liverpool L3 4BJ

The courses are offered at £50.00 per person, with the times for each course from 10am-3.30pm

We will be looking at ways to get the most out of this software program using appropriate wordlists,making resources and send grids. The day includes a sandwich lunch and places will be limited to 20 people. If you are interested in enrolling for a course, please call Gillian Draper on 01223 425558 ext.773.

• Training in Writing with Symbols 2000
  The Advisory Unit in Hatfield is offering one day courses in Writing with Symbols 2000.
  
  Getting Started' - Monday 30 June 2003
  This course covers the basic functions of WWS2000 and includes changing wordlists and symbols, using grids to create resources and for writing.
  
  Managing Writing with Symbols 2000' - Tuesday 8 July 2003
  Managing WWS2000 across a school can be a challenging task particularly if your school is a network. This one day course is for ICT co-ordinators and technicians who would like to manage Writing with Symbols more effectively in their schools.

• Text lists for the Science vocabulary in the Widgit Rebus set
