Maths Pack

Reception to Year 6 Maths vocabulary flashcards to support the complete National Numeracy Strategy.

All together there are 6 packs starting with Reception, which has the core vocabulary. The remaining packs contain the additional vocabulary for Y1 – Y6 and are cumulative. i.e.Y6 adds to all previous units to give the full Y6 maths requirements.

Each year builds on the vocabulary of the previous year(s). In these files only the new vocabulary is included in each year set.

Reception vocabulary is by far the largest, and there is a separate file for each topic. In subsequent years topics have been grouped together in smaller number of files for your convenience and to reduce print wastage.

The files are provided in four formats:

• Symbol+word cards
  Large cards with symbol+word and are ideal for matching games and can be used at various levels
• Symbol cards
  Large cards with just the symbol and are designed for class work, labelling and discussion
• Word cards
  These cards match the symbol and symbol+word cards. having only the text
• Vocabulary sheets
  These have the key maths vocabulary for that topic as text with the symbol beside as a reminder of the concept. These lists are useful for students as a resource when doing maths work
  

The vocabulary is split into five strands:

• Numbers and the number system
• Calculations
• Solving problems
• Handling data
• Measures, shapes and space

System Requirements:
The activities have been made using Communicate: In Print 2 and to access these files you will need to have this installed on your machine.

The files have also been provided in PDF format. These do not require symbol software, but you will not be able to edit the activities. These can be printed directly from Acrobat Reader. You do not need any of the Widgit Products to access these files, but you will need to have Adobe Acrobat installed.
