Widgit's first programs were on the Spectrum machine invented by Clive Sinclair. It was the first colour machine to be sold in bulk to the home market, and had at that time a seemingly fabulous 48k of memory. The Spectrum had more innovative software written for it than any other home computer around at that time, and much of today's software has clear roots in these early days. Spectrum enthusiasts still abound and some have written an emulator, which allows your wonderful PC with vast megabytes of RAM to emulate the humble Spectrum. Widgit have collected this and some of our own products from that era for you to download. So take a trip down memory lane or take your first peek into our computing past.
