Just2easy (j2e) is a company formed by a team of educational software designers. Winners of two British Education and Training Technology (BETT) awards, j2e have been creating educational software since 1994. They are responsible for some of the most popular software used in UK schools today.
j2e have recently implemented Widgit Symbols into their word processor
and online services.
When this Widgit Symbol support is activated, the symbols can be set to appear as the user types, or can appear as part of the j2e spell check to illustrate definitions of words.
The j2e facilities which incorporate Widgit Symbols are available for both PC and Mac operating systems, meaning that, for the first time, Widgit Symbol support is available for Mac users.
All web pages that feature Widgit Symbol support that are created using j2e’s online software will have their own URL web address. This means that they can be accessed just like a normal webpage – through any web browser at any location. As a result of this, the educational documentation displayed on these webpages can be shared and viewed by teachers, students, family and friends on any computer, without symbol support software needing to be to be installed.
Danny Young, Managing Director of Just2easy commented, “This exciting, new product combines vast experience of j2e and Widgit to help deliver real educational benefits to pupils and teachers. Already, the response from educators across the country has been very positive and we are delighted to be working with Widgit on this project.”
