Tobii Communicator 4 is an alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) software package, designed to offer people with communication disabilities a better, intuitive way to communicate and a new level of independence.

Communicator 4 offers the user a wide range of ways to communicate – whether face-to-face with the support of communication boards, or by email, text message or phone call using its built-in telecommunication technology.

Widgit Symbols can soon be used in Communicator 4, meaning that Widgit Symbols will be able to be added to communication boards to give the user visual representations of the meanings of the words on the boards.

Widgit Symbols are images which are used to make meanings clearer and easier to understand, by each providing a visual representation of a single word or concept. The Widgit Symbol Set consists of over 10,000 clear, colourful symbols, which cover a vocabulary of over 40,000 words, including many curriculuar areas and localised, culturally-specific words.

Communicator 4 comes with a set of ready-made symbol communication boards to help you get started, which are easily customisable and ready for Widgit Symbols of your choice to be added!
