Who can benefit from symbols?
Symbols can significantly help anyone of any age with thier language, learning, literacy and communication
Here is a list of just some of the different groups who use symbols:
- People learning English as a second language
- People with memory difficulties, senile dementia or other brain damage
- People with dyslexia, dyspraxia or spatial/time/orgainisational difficulties
- People who are deaf or hearing impaired
- Young children who have not yet started to read.
- People with Autistic Spectrum Disorders
Pupils in infant schools who need that little
bit of extra help in understanding language.
Students with physical difficulties
starting to write with switches.
Students with Autism and other
communication difficulties, who respond
to pictorial communication.
