Version 2.6 with the Widgit Rebus Widgit
The main feature of version 2.6 is the addition of the new Widgit Symbols, replacing the original older ones, and improved and more extensive wordlsits.
The new Widgit Symbols has a completely redesigned structure to the set, with a much clearer grammatical foundation. All of the symbols have been re-drawn and are of a much higher quality. There is also over 500 new symbols.
This work is the result of a two year project and has involved a network of teachers, speech and language therapists and users. For a fuller description click here.

Writing with Symbols 2000 is now available in several different languages and is being sold in many countries. We have therefore changed the name of the symbol set to be Widgit Rebus in order to avoid confusion in other countries which still use symbols based on the old American Rebus symbols.

The new Colour Widgit Symbols
In 2004, the Colour Widgit Symbol set was developed; and extended the set
by over 1000 symbols. The line drawings are exactly the same as in the
black & white set, with colour having being carefully and sensitively
added. These can be used in WWS through new colour wordlists.
This set was realeased with Communicate: In Print 2.
