Many history reference books have very busy pages with text and graphics inter woven. These short books contain simple sentences and pictures, with each covering a separate topic. Each book is available at 5 different levels and has relevant vocabulary cards at the back.

Formats

Text only Short sentences, one sentence per line, four lines per page.
Supported text As text version with the addition of small symbols for key words and new vocabulary;
Symbol The same text plus symbols for all the main words for pupils requiring more support;
Simplified Less information, two to three lines per page.
One symbol This most basic level has just one symbol on each page.

Edit a book leaving just the pictures for pupils to write their own sentences.
Use the flash cards as pictures to illustrate pupil writing and displays
Use the vocabulary checklist as a reference sheet for individual writers.
Record pupil progress and understanding of the vocabulary on the checklist
Print the flashcards from each book for vocabulary games.

Printing the materials from Communicate: In Print 2

The Communicate: In Print 2set of files are installed into the Communicate files/In Print Writing folder, in Widgit Resources.

The extra vocabulary for the wordlist and the extra graphics are provided with the pack and automatically added to your Widgit graphic resources. This enables you to also create your own materials to meet individual needs.

Communicate: In Print gives you the option to print either as single sheets or as books ready to staple and fold. You can also choose to print double sided. You can print them in A4 or A5, and can choose to have the symbols in colour or black and white.

Printing the PDF Files

The PDF version of this pack cannot be configured for individual use, but do not require specific symbol software.

These files can be printed directly from Acrobat Reader. You do not need any of the Widgit Products to access these files, but you will need to have Adobe Acrobat installed.
