These PHSE books tackle difficult topics sensitively.

Issues such as: good behaviour, bullying, hygiene, divorce, illness, death and child abuse are tackled using social stories. Characters and circumstances can be adapted to fit different clients' age or gender and difficulties.

The Men, Women and Babies books explore: bodily changes, dating, the reproductive cycle, pregnancy and caring for a baby. The subjects are suitable for individual or group work and can be useful for transition periods such as going to secondary school or college. Each book is accompanied by a 40 page workbook which has the usual matching, comprehension, recall, odd one out, reading and spelling.

In addition, students learn to discuss and further explore the topics with accompanying workbook pages e.g. different family structures, who is safe to touch their bodies.

Printing the materials from Communicate: In Print 2

The Communicate: In Print 2 set of files are installed into the Communicate files/In Print Writing folder, in Widgit Resources.

As well as using the materials as supplied, they can be modified or adapted for individual needs, for example by adding or removing symbols to give the most appropriate level of individual support.

You can choose to print these activities in either colour or black and white.

Communicate: In Print gives you the option to print either as single sheets or as books ready to staple and fold. You can also choose to print double sided. You can print them in A4 or A5, and can choose to have the symbols in colour or black and white.
