Year 3 support materials for Myths and Legends. These materials have been made for pupils who may be working on text level work in class which is far in advance of their word and sentence level work. So although the text level may be from KS2 there is still a chance to develop some of the foundation work from KS1.

How to use the packs

Download the worksheets and environments for Writing with Symbols 2000 V2.6 including any additional graphics so that you can tailor the materials to suit your group and make your own materials.
You need 'Writing with Symbols 2000 v2.6' installed to be able to use this resource

Download the packs as PDF Files. These do not require symbol software, but you will not be able to edit the activities.
You do not need any Widgit software to be able to use this resource

The activities include:

• Stories to cut into sentence strips for sequencing
• Questions and answer sheets
• Picture/word matching cards
• Sentence halves to match to complete the sentences
• The Minotaur character map
• Mindmaps for both characters
• Alphabetical order activity on vocabulary used in the pack

Using the materials in Writing with Symbols 2000

The worksheets and environments are installed into your WWS2000Work folder. Together with wordlists and additional graphics.

The worksheet files are installed into the Activities folder inside writing.

The environments are installed into the Activities folder inside your Wizard environments.

As well as using the materials as supplied, they can be modified or adapted for individual needs. The extra vocabulary for the wordlist and the extra graphics are provided with the pack and automatically added to WIDRESOURCES (Widgit graphic resources). This enables you to also create your own materials to meet individual needs.

Printing the PDF Files

The PDF version of this pack cannot be configured for individual use, but do not require specific symbol software.

These files can be printed directly from Acrobat Reader. You do not need any of the Widgit Products to access these files, but you will need to have Adobe Acrobat installed.
