This set is designed to assist Intermediaries in their role of supporting people with communication difficulties being interviewed by the police and in any subsequent court appearances.
The vocabulary set was trialled in a number of teaching environments where pupils and students used this vocabulary set to describe each other and their reactions to a range of situations and scenarios. In these trials, the vocabulary seemed to have a value beyond the Intermediary specific remit.
Therefore the pack can be also used to facilitate more general discussion about describing people if the pages that referred to intimate body parts are removed. This would allow children and students with communication difficulties in schools to become familiar with the vocabulary, so that if they subsequently need to report criminal activities they have the vocabulary to do so.Downloads

Download it for use in Communicate: In Print 2,
including all the additional graphics so that you can tailor
the materials to suit your group and make your own materials. You need 'Communicate: In
Print 2' installed to able to use this resource
The Pack is supplied on CD and comes with printed documentation with a full description of the Intermediaries project.
The pack is supplied in two formats:
Communicate in Print format
This is designed to be printed and used as a low tech solution, for use within a ring binder.
The vocabulary is split into 12 mains themes:
Printing the materials from Communicate: In Print 2The Communicate: In Print 2 set of files are installed into the Communicate files/In Print Writing folder, in Widgit Resources.
The extra vocabulary for the wordlist and the extra graphics are provided with the pack and are automatically added to your Widgit graphic resources. This enables you to also create your own materials to meet individual needs.
Communicate: In Print gives you the option to print either as single sheets or as books ready to staple and fold. You can also choose to print double sided. You can print them in A4 or A5, and can choose to have the symbols in colour or black and white.
