The default locations of the files used by programs in the Communicate series have changed. This makes it much easier to install and use the program on a network.
The 'Communicate Files' folder is now installed to a shared area. By default, this is within the 'Documents' folder of the 'All Users' profile.
Users now have a private folder for their personal files. By default, this folder is called 'My InPrint Writing' and is created within the 'My Documents' folder of the logged-on user's profile.

To take advantage of these changes, a few new menu options have been added to Communicate In Print 2.
Options have been added to the 'File' menu to open and save files directly to the shared area, without having to browse to it.
Open - Opens to your 'My InPrint Writing' folder.
Open Shared - Opens to the shared area.
Save - Saves the current document. If the document is new and has not yet been saved, selecting the 'Save' option will prompt you to save the file to your 'My InPrint Writing' folder.
Save As - Saves the current document with a new name, or to a new location. If the document is new and has not yet been saved, selecting the 'Save As' option will prompt you to save the file to your 'My InPrint Writing' folder.
Save Shared As - Saves the current document with a new name or to a new location. If the document is new and has not yet been saved, selecting the 'Save Shared As' option will prompt you to save the file to the shared area.
Transfer to Shared - This will allow you to quickly copy documents, wordlists or graphics to the correct sub-folder of the shared area with a minimum of fuss.
1. Select the appropriate 'Transfer to Shared.' option (Documents, Wordlists, Graphics). This will open to one of the following areas:
Documents - Your 'My InPrint Writing' folder
Wordlists - The Windows desktop
Graphics - Your 'My Pictures' folder
2. Browse to the file you wish to transfer and click 'Open'.
3. The window will change to the proper destination folder within the shared area. Click 'Save'.
If the current user does not have permission to write files to the shared area, the menu item 'Save Shared As.' and items in the menu group 'Transfer to Shared.' will be unavailable.

The first new item on the 'Help' menu will be of use to people who need to know the specific locations of their In Print files and resources. Selecting 'File Locations' will display the locations of the following folders:
Your own documents - The folder where documents you create are saved by default.
Shared data - The folder where everything from shared pictures to wordlists are kept.
Widgit Pictures - The folder where the Widgit Pictures are kept.
Symbols - The folder where the Widgit Rebus symbols are kept.
The 'Help' menu has another new item, 'Information about Sharing'. This dialog gives brief instructions on how to manage files for use with In Print.
