Can I use my In Print wordlists in Writing with Symbols?
Solution
You need to convert the In Print wordlists to WWS2000 format first. The basic released In Print wordlists are also included in WWS2000 format.
The wordlists for In Print have additional data that is not included in the WWS2000 lists, and so you cannot directly use a wordlist from In Print in WWS2000.
The file extension of WWS2000 lists is .wus and for new Communicate In Print lists it is .cwl (which stands for Communicate Word List).
You can modify an In Print wordlist in the Resource Manager to save it in the old format.
To save a wordlist as a .wus file for use in WWS2000 click on Save Old in the Resource Manager V3, and then select UK as the language.
We have provided modified lists for Writing with Symbols: Widgit Rebus 04.wus list and Widgit Pictures.wus. These will be installed into your WWS2000Work\Wordlist directory.
There is also a wordlist called New rebus symbols.wus which just has the new items. This is provided so that you can merge it with your own WWS2000 wordlist using the Resource Manager.
