A lovely idea for practicing vocabulary or curriculum wordbanks.
The best thing is that after you have made a suitable
grid, you can save it as a template
for further games. Just delete the words and re type with the new vocabulary.
The supporting pictures will appear automatically.
Look in the templates section for suitable templates already in Writing with Symbols.
Open up the Grids for Printing option.
Single click on New Grid and in the window
type in 4 cells across and 4 down and the measurements 260
across and 180 down. The grid will open up on the screen.
Type in the cells in the usual way.

To make your game last longer, try laminating
it. A couple of holes in the top means you can keep the games
in a file for future use. Laminating or putting the game inside
a plastic wallet means you can use a dry marker pen to cross
out the items when called. This would be so much easier than
covering with scraps of paper and rubs out quickly with a
cloth afterwards.
Change the words quickly and easily by deleting
them and re typing. You could use this for collections of
nouns, book characters, high/medium frequency words, learning
languages or simple initial sounds
