Problem
"Error selecting a tts engine - no sound
card?"
is displayed when WWS2000 is run
Solution 1
Go to control panel
In Windows 2000: Start > Settings > Control Panel
In Windows XP: Start > Control Panel
Select Sounds Properties
In Windows 2000: Sounds and Multimedia
In Windows XP: Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices
Select Audio tab
Change Midi Music Playback to another option in the drop down list.
Solution 2
This can be caused by a corruption with the speech files


Right click on 'Start' at the bottom left hand side of your screen
Choose 'explore'
A window will open up and you
will need to click on the folder which says WWS2002-6 (this
will be on the left hand side).


Choose the folder labelled 'Redist'
Double click on the file MSTTSL.EXE (Microsoft text
to speech engine)
Follow the instructions. It shold re-install your speech
engines.
Repeat by opening the folder api and double click on the
file spchapi.exe.
