Nostalgia for the past

Computing
a lifetime of success

Cate Detheridge was just two when she first played "Rabbits" from Widgit's Spectrum "Pathfinder" games. Since then she has changed her name (slightly) and her computers (considerably), but still has the hankering fro the old stuff. Cate now is part of SymData Technologies that works with Widgit to produce the Widgit Literacy Symbol Collection and also helps organisations to make their information more accessible to people with learning difficulties by using symbols. The export business started 20 years ago now flourishes with 11 language versions of Widgit's Writing with Symbols now being available, and Cate makes symbol variations for all of these.

Cate nostalgia
Cate has seen all this grow and is now very much part of it all. But even surrounded with fancy Macs and PCs Cate has still feels the call of the past and "Rabbits" can still be seen from time to time on her PC. In another 20 years she will be surrounded with quite different equipment but it may be that even then someone writes a Spectrum emulator for the Zarg Mega 2023.
