The extension of symbol support is the ideal way of ensuring that students of varying reading and English abilities are fully engaged.  Not only do pupils have access but parents with English as an Additional Language (EAL) and other users with learning difficulties can increasingly be involved through virtual learning via a range of learning platforms.

To provide symbol support in virtual learning environments, Widgit’s online tools Point and Insite have been integrated into various technologies.

With the integration of Widgit’s online tool Point into a learning platform, subtle symbol support can be provided for text.

Widgit Insite and Point online tools have been integrated into the Frog learning platform to provide symbolised content within Frog pages. Users can now enable symbols for existing text on Frog pages via the Point integration, or use the Insite editor to add symbols to new or existing pages via the Frog page editor. Examples include the creation of a simplified visual school timetable and lunch menu, which can be viewed by anyone in or out of school.
