Medical and Therapy
Medical symbols
The medical element of the red or open cross will be used with all medical
items and people.
There was a need expressed to distinguish between doctor and nurse levels of practice. It was decided that a filled in cross would be used for the higher level and the open cross for the more general level (e.g. dentist and dental nurse). The group agreed that at the first level users who may not discriminate between the colour and white cross, may also not appreciate the difference between the roles.
Therapy and therapists
The new image for therapist is based on the idea of helper with the
'helping hand'. A therapist is a special helper, and has a star added
to this, Therapy is the hand and star without the person.
