World War 2

These activities cover an overview of World War II which include information about key dates and people, allies, battles and the aftermath.

World War 2

World War 2 Blitz

These activities explore the meaning of the word ‘Blitz’, the bomb targets, how people coped and had to live during the Blitz and the aftermath.


World War 2 Children

These activities focus on the effects of World War II on British children, dealing with the changes in family life and education, and the process of evacuation.


World War 2 East

These activities look at the Eastern world during World War II, primarily focusing on Japan’s role, including: invasions, bombings, alliances, prisoners of war, technology, fighting conditions and the eventual atomic bombings which lead to the end of the war.


World War 2 Homes

These activities look at the changing conditions of life at home during World War II, including: men and women’s roles, Government rationing and schemes such as ‘Make do and mend’ and ‘Dig for victory’.
