Solids and Liquids Environments
Reading, Comprehension and Quiz Activities
A series of informative reading, comprehension and quiz activities which can be used to increase and assess children's knowledge and understanding of this topic individually or in a group.
Solids and Liquids Information Book
Click on the four statements to learn interesting facts about solids and liquids and their properties. Each page of text has four sentences. As the student clicks on each sentence in turn, it is spoken then added to the document. There is a "repeat speech" button to hear it again. The final document can be printed (and it works well in black and white as well as colour). Another option is to use this as an information source as one might use a web page. In this case the users can browse through the pages and copy just the sentences they need.
Solids and Liquids - Questions and Completing Sentences Activity
Click on the large bar to transport the question or the beginning of the sentence to the document. The student will also hear this statement read aloud. Then select the correct answer from a choice of three. This can complete the sentence or can form the answer to a question. The student can use the words to express their ideas in response to the question. There is a delete button if the wrong word is selected by mistake.
Solids and Liquids - Quiz
Click on the large bar to transport the question to the document and hear it read aloud. Then select the correct answer or answers from a choice of six. This alone can form the answer to the question. The student can use the words to express their ideas in response to the question. There is a delete button if the incorrect word is chosen.
Solids and Liquids - Sorting Activity
Click on the large bar to hear the part of the sentence read aloud. Then the student decides if the material is solid or liquid and selects one of these options to complete the sentence. The whole sentence is then repeated aloud. There is a delete button if the incorrect state is chosen.
