Reading books for the High Frequency Words in Phase 2 & 3

A motivating set of new reading books using the words from Phase Two and Phase Three of the first 100 High Frequency Words. These books are for word recognition YR to Y2. THis pack is an extension of the Zed 45 Words pack.

 

In 2007 the Government published 'Sounds and Letters' which was developed to provide guidance in phonics teaching. The New Zed Reading Books have been developed to take into account the changes in the high frequency words. The first 45 words are replaced by 32 decodeable and tricky words in Phase 2 and 24 in Phase 3. The new books have been written around these new sets of words and have different stories from the originals.

The first 100 high-frequency words are introduced in phases two to five and are taken from the Letters and Sounds: Principles and Practice of High Quality Phonics, Primary National Strategy.

Zed the Alien Reading Books Phase Two contains 32 high frequency words. There are 16 books in this pack.

Zed the Alien Reading Books Phase Three contains 24 high frequency words. There are 12 books in this pack.
