About the author
With over 30 years’ experience, Kirby Woods has trained and worked as a nursery nurse (N.N.E.B.) before embarking on training and working as a primary school teacher - B.Ed. (Hons), specialising in Early Years and the Creative Arts. She holds post-graduate diplomas in the areas of SLCN and Autism and has completed the NPQSL.
Throughout her career, Kirby has always been passionate about the use of visual support to empower, engage and enable all children and young people. She continues to encourage those who support children and young people to stay open-minded and adopt a ‘give-it-a-go’ approach when considering using visual support.
