FAQs

• What do the colours on the boards mean?
  

  With permission from Alison Bryan, our Communication Boards follow the four main colours of the Colourful Semantics system.

  • Yellow – What Doing?
  • Orange – Who?
  • Green – What?
  • Blue – Where?

  For other word types, Widgit have made the decision to use the following colour coding:

  • Teal – Questions
  • Grey – Little words / Phrases
  • Dark Blue – Describing Words

  Coming soon - We will be able to offer versions of our Communication Boards designed using the Fitzgerald Modified Key.

• What material are the boards made from?
  

  Our boards are printed in full colour on 3mm matt laminated Dibond with rounded corners

  What is Dibond?
  Dibond consists of two thin sheets of Aluminium enclosing a Polyethylene core. Suitable for a vast range of applications, they are lightweight but strong and the extremely flat surface is great for printing high quality graphics or text.
  
  Dibond can be nailed, screwed or riveted to surfaces with ease and can also be mounted with double sided sticky pads for easy removal. Suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
  
  A very popular choice for communication boards due to its hardy nature.
  

• What fixing options are available?
  

  Widgit Communication Boards can be attached to chain link fencing, circular posts, or square posts. The fixing options below can be added to your basket when purchasing your board.

  Note: We do NOT supply posts with the boards.
  

  

• How much can I save if I order multiple boards?
  

  We offer the following bundles:

  • Learning Board Bundle (All 7 boards): Save £112
  • Phonics Board Bundle (All 5 boards): Save £80

  For larger orders, additional discounts are available:

  • 5+ boards: 10% discount
  • 10+ boards: 15% discount
  • 15+ boards: 20% discount

  These discounts are not automatically applied at checkout but will be included when we process your order and send your invoice.

• What is a purchase order (PO)?
  

  A purchase order (also referred to as a PO) is a contractual agreement between a purchaser and a supplier.

  It is a document that details the goods or services that the buyer has agreed to purchase and the terms of the purchase.

  It is usually a letterheaded document that states the following details:

  • Contact name
  • Company name
  • Invoicing address
  • Delivery address
  • Telephone number
  • Email address
  • Purchase Order reference/number
  • Description of your order
  • Total cost of your order

  You should speak to your finance/accounts department if you need assistance obtaining a Purchase Order.

• I have paid by invoice, when will I receive my board(s)?
  

  If you are paying by invoice, your boards will be dispatched once the invoice has been paid in full.

• Do you supply posts?
  

  We do not supply posts or backing boards.

• Do you provide installation?
  

  We don’t currently offer an installation service, but our communication boards are designed for easy self-installation using the fixings available to order alongside your board.

• How long is delivery?
  

  Delivery normally takes around 7–10 working days. Please note that during busy periods this may take slightly longer.
  
  As the boards are large, please ensure someone is available to receive the delivery.

  Note: If paying by invoice, boards will be dispatched once the invoice has been paid in full.

• Can I return my Communication Board?
  

  We can only accept the return of faulty boards or boards damaged in transit.

• What should I do if my Communication Board arrives damaged?
  

  Get in touch and we can look at what happened. We will need photographic evidence of the problem so we can determine the most appropriate solution.

• Can I make changes to the design, add my logo or order bespoke sizes/shapes?
  

  You can not make changes to the boards on this page but we do provide bespoke Communication Boards via our bespoke design service.
