Reading and Writing Bookmarks and Prompts
Bookmarks and prompt cards to encourage discussion around reading and writing

To celebrate International Literacy Day, Widgit has created a collection of free symbol-supported reading and writing resources to support literacy development.
Our symbolised reading bookmarks help children keep their place in a book while providing accessible visual support for independent reading. The writing bookmarks can be used as handy placeholders in exercise books, reminding pupils of key features they can include to improve their writing. All bookmarks are available in both full colour, ready-to-print formats and black-and-white versions.
The Reading Prompt Cards encourage children to engage in meaningful discussions about the books they are reading while developing essential comprehension skills such as prediction, inference and comparison.
The symbolised Writing Prompts provide clear visual support for the key writing features children need to use as they progress through Key Stages 1 and 2. A4 versions are included for classroom display, alongside smaller versions that can be stuck into exercise books for easy reference during independent writing activities.
