Things Are Feeling Different Social Story
A resource to help explain what is happening and support young people’s understanding

This symbol-supported social story has been created to help young people understand why things may feel different due to events in the Middle East.
It explains, in clear and reassuring language, why they might hear sirens, new words such as 'sheltering', or adults talking about disagreements. The story reassures them that adults are there to keep them safe, helps them recognise and express their feelings, and encourages them to ask questions and talk to trusted adults. It supports understanding, reduces anxiety, and provides comfort during uncertain times.
Available as a ready-to-use PDF or a customisable Widgit Online file. Created with guidance and support from: Edsidera, London Primary Teacher and Louise Dawson.
